REMIT Exposure Reporting is the reporting of aggregated future market positions resulting from wholesale energy trading, together with relevant generation and consumption forecasts where required, in order to give ACER an overview of the participant’s exposure in electricity and natural gas markets.

No. Exposure Reporting is an additional reporting obligation. Transaction reporting continues to apply separately where transactions are reportable under REMIT.
No. For the threshold assessment, positions should not simply be netted. ACER refers to the sum of absolute monthly values resulting from positions in wholesale energy products.
No. Electricity and natural gas are assessed separately. A market participant may be above the threshold for electricity but below the threshold for gas.
Day-ahead and intraday spot market data should generally not be included for the purpose of Exposure Reporting.
Article 6 applies from 1 January 2027. The first reporting is expected by 31 October 2027, covering monthly positions from October 2027 to March 2029. ACER’s REMIT implementation timeline also refers to exposure data guidance and go-live in October 2027.
Battery storage positions should be included in REMIT Exposure Reporting as electricity positions, provided the related contracts qualify as wholesale energy products. If the market participant reaches or exceeds the 600 GWh/year electricity threshold, the relevant positions must be reported to ACER.
